KiSSey

kissey

Future soul-space-lady from the North, more precisely from Malmö, Sweden, Kissey Asplund looks a really sweet girl with a purely sweet voice and style. It’s impossible to list how many collabs she is into now, but the producer bunch includes crazy beatmakers, her soulmates and such young talents like Aaron Jerome, Ishfaq or Blackmonk. She also blogs sharing her soul-thoughts, poetry, rhymes — here. Watch out for her releases or the ones feat her this or next year. There is a new Ishfaq’s EP with her and her Plethora EP is also forthcoming.

opo

Swedish-hungarian talent and producer Peter Major aka Opolopo, who seems to have won “the new talent” category at our Beyondjazz round-up poll, is going to have a big year in 2007. First comes a single ‘Madness’ feat two special cosmic- soul tunes and vocalists Nadine Francios and Ed Black on Swedish Brandy, then a bruk-house twelve ‘Street Lights’ feat Amalia and hopefully their ‘All System Down’ joint will be out this year too. Besides some of his remix works, He is also planning to release his second album around summer or so. My interview with him will be published very soon on bj, will post the link here of course.

Before i forget, Fruitful New Year to Everyone!

FG is 10 next year

Baltimore’s leading spiriutal soul band, the almighty Fertile Ground will be celebrating their 10th anniversary in 2007. So next year they will commemorate this special occasion with a new album, a Live Performance DVD and various solo projects. During winter, I always relisten some of their albums alongside some orange tea and godiva as they are the best soulfood around – especially at the end of the year! Happy anniversary to FG and thanks for the past ten years!

Most of all, she is working on her solo debut album coming out hopefully next year. Chek her myspace for more info and read about her in The Guardian.
